Skiriamas šovininis ir atskirasis (tūtinis ir betūtis), automatinis, pusiau automatinis, mechanizuotasis ir rankinis pabūklo užtaisymas; mažo kalibro pabūklų ir šaulių ginklų – dėtuvinis. Minosvaidžiai ppr. užtaisomi pro vamzdžio laibgalį, o RSUS sviediniai dedami ant kreipiklių arba į leidimo įrenginio vamzdžius.
